She Lost Another One!

This is just a little post for documentation purposes. My Little Bird has lost her seventh tooth! The tooth fairy visited and Little Bird rec'd a $1 bill for her loss. The tooth is currently in my jeans pocket and it will be added to the other 6 teeth that I have collected and put in a ziploc baggie.....somewhere. When I find that baggie, I'll add this tooth to it. Hopefully, I won't lose it between now and then! LOL

Birthday Week

Six years ago on September 11, my Little Bird joined our family. She's had a really big year this year with losing her first tooth (followed by 5 more), starting Kindergarten AND turning 6 years old!!! I wanted to let her know how special she is to me so I baked some cupcakes and took them to her classroom at school. Here she is smiling cheesily while the class serenades her with the "Happy Birthday!" song. The hat that she is wearing is from the Teddy Bear picnic the class had just enjoyed before I arrived with the cupcakes.

Here she is enjoying a cupcake!!!
Just a few days later, on Sept 15, Kangaroo turned 4 years old! Since she had accompanied me taking cupcakes to school on Little Bird's birthday, I also wanted to do something special for her. She does not attend preschool or anything so there was no class to share with. So, I called my mom to join us for lunch at a Ryan's restaurant. I figured that the waitresses would do the Happy Happy birthday chant and that would be Kangaroo's special time. It worked too!!! She wanted to wear a crown she had made about a month ago and then she requested to wear her Tinkerbell dress so she could be a birthday princess. Who am I do deny her request on her birthday? Doesn't she just look beautiful!!!?
With DQ at the table.
Showing us how royal she is.
Checking out the sweet stuff.
Mmm Mmm Good!!!
Gotta wash it all down!!

THEN, we had the OFFICIAL birthday shingdig at the local Chuck E. Cheese's to celebrate with family and friends. The girls had a grand old time!!!

They were especially excited to meet Chuck E. himself in person!!!
Happy Birthday to my sweetie pies!!! Don't grow up too fast!!!

"Snaggle" Tooth?

Why do we call it "snaggle" tooth when the teeth fall out and leave these funny looking gaps? Oh, maybe it's because it looks all "snaggly"? Anyway, Little Bird now has to eat her food with her side teeth because she doesn't have anymore in the front! Poor thing! Now she looks so funny and even talks funny! She whistles a little when she says her Ssss's. LOL!

Another Tooth Done Gone

Little Bird has lost yet another tooth. Her third. At any rate, looking at the picture posted, her first tooth lost came from the gap you see on the bottom row of her teeth. The 2nd tooth lost came from the huge gap on the upper set of teeth. The third tooth lost just last night came from the bottom row right next to gap #1. Tooth #2 (upper row) came out last Tuesday (1-27-09). Hubs made the comment that she's gonna lose them all before the permanent teeth begin to grow in. He says she'll look real funny then!!! She's growing up so fast!

Christmas Teeth

This year for Christmas, my older kiddos rec’d some stupid junk in their stockings. You know….practical jokester junk. Anyway, one of the items was these silly looking Bubba Teeth. Well, my Little Bird thought they were the funniest things and she put them on. She then ran to the bathroom to look at herself in the mirror and admire her “new” teeth! About this time, my dad comes over to see the kids and spend a few minutes with them. He enjoys being around when they are learning and seeing new things for the first time. While he was here, my Kangaroo started crying.

When she cries and whines, it’s a bit hard to understand what she’s trying to say. When that happens, we tell her to calm down and use her words. We tell her that we don’t speak that language and we can’t understand it when someone else is speaking it. Then she’s usually pretty good at getting a grip and communicating what she wants or needs. So, anyway, then she says it so we can understand, "Iwannaooklikpawpabutlilbudwonshare". Us adults look at each other, with this "What did she say?" look on our faces. So we asked her repeat it, using her words. This time we heard quite clearly, "I wanna look like paw paw but Little Bird won't shaaaayer!!!"

See, my dad has this tooth…one of his front teeth….that “died” and was fixed with a root canal and then a cap. So, it looks a little funny when he smiles. It just stands out a little.
Kangaroo and her paw paw teeth!
Isn’t it funny the things children see that we grown ups can't or ....don’t wanna…..see?
