172 Years Old

Our church celebrated our 172nd anniversaray today. We had a huge potluck dinner after a worship service loaded with Southern Gospel songs. According to the roadside historical marker, Hebron Baptist Church is the oldest church in Livingston Parish and was organized in 1837. The first church building was located 3 miles south of the current location. In 1859, a frame church was built on 4 acres of land at the current location. In 1918 a larger church was built and in 1955 the current sanctuary was built. Rev. Thomas M. Bond was the first pastor.

Over the years, other additions have been made to accommodate the growing flock and the church currently has plans for a bigger, multi functional facility.
